Golden Boy

Everyone was dark,

His parents, his friends, his teachers,

But not him,

His personality was so golden bright,

That even on the sun,

There would be no comparison,

He would still take the win.

This troubled him.

He felt as though everyone held him down.

He lived in a dingy, cloudy town,

With dingy, cloudy people.

So the day he turned 18 he packed up and left.

He moved where the sun never slept.

He gets no letters from his dingy parents.

His new golden friends tell him not to worry about it.

He tries not to.

He has sun to soak in, and that should be enough,

But how can he be golden when nothing around him is dark anymore?
